イェール大学・大阪市立大学ジョイントセミナー「アジアの周縁的社会集団と史料―日本とオスマン帝国」（2019年3月25〜26日開催）

この2日間のワークショップでは、近世（徳川時代）～近代（明治時代）における日本の社会史の様々な側面を考察するとともに、オスマン帝国における周縁的社会集団の経験との対比も試みます。

アジアの相異なる地域の事例を比較することで、近代化過程に関する比較史的展望を広く模索したいと思います。

ワークショップの2日目の朝には、イェール大学貴重書図書館「バイネキ」が所蔵する近世日本（徳川時代）の古文書（京都の町政に関するもの）を読むことを主眼にしたセッション（史料読解ワークショップ）も開催されます。

これら一連のイベントは、イェール大学と大阪市立大学の継続的な国際共同研究の一環として企画されたものです。
