Osaka City is affiliated with Bangkok as a Business
Partner City. OCU signed an academic exchange agreement with the
Faculty of Fine Arts and Applied Arts of Chulalongkorn University
in Thailand. UCRC established a Sub-center in one of the offices
at the Faculty of Arts & Sciences and Faculty of Fine Arts.
UCRC and Chulalongkorn University agreed to put a full-time local
administrative assistant in this Sub-center. The assistant organizes
documents, supports the COE faculty staff coming to the Sub-center,
and manages all the arrangements in the office. Some UCRC faculty
members have been staying at the Sub-center for management, research,
and academic exchange programs. We invited two faculty members from
Chulalongkorn University, one in March and the other in fall in
2003. In April 2003, OCU and Chulalongkorn University co-hosted
a symposium in which 4 members of Chulalongkorn University made
presentations concerning their academic achievements.
